Contact details for the Council's licensing teamYou will be asked to create an account and complete the online application process.You will be asked to submit the following documents as part of the application process:
Floorplan (page 12 of the policy document explains what it needs to include);
Evidence of operation as a short-term let on or before 1 October 2023 (for existing host e.g. booking confirmation email from Sykes for booking(s) that took place before 1 October 2022.)
Consent from the owner(s) where the owner is not the applicant;
Valid buildings insurance;
Valid public liability insurance
See more information about the licence fees here. The relevant fee for most of our owners is that being charged for secondary letting (ie. when you let out accommodation that isn’t your only or principal home) and so it is that fee to which we’ve referred to below:
1 bedroom: £800
2 bedrooms: £900
3 bedrooms: £1,000
4 or more bedrooms: £1,100
There are additional conditions to comply with, these include:
Ensuring guests do not first arrive or finally depart between the hours of 11pm and 7am;
Clearly labelling bins as belonging to the property; Not affixing a key box/device to any public or jointly owned infrastructure without provable consent.Find further detail on the additional conditions here.
