You need to complete the application form.
Send the completed application form with all the required evidential documentation to PrivateSector@northlan.gov.uk. A member of the Licensing team will contact you for payment.
You will be asked to submit the following documents as part of the application process:
Fire risk assessment;
Gas safety certificate (for properties with a gas supply);
Electrical Installation Condition report;
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) report:
Legionella risk assessment;
Planning permission (if requested by the Council);
Detailed floor plan if requested by the Council (e.g. where certain fire safety aspects of the licensing conditions are not met, or where there are concerns regarding overcrowding or disabled access)
EPC certificate;
Building and Public Liability Insurance;
Proof of consent from owner (if applicable)
Evidence of operation as a short-term let on or before 1 October 2023 (for existing host e.g. booking confirmation email from Sykes for booking(s) that took place before 1 October 2022.)
The relevant fee for most of our owners is that being charged for secondary letting (ie. when you let out accommodation that isn’t your only or principal home) and so it is that fee to which we’ve referred in the table below: The licence fees for secondary letting are £300 for maximum capacity of up to 4 guests and £450 for 5 guests or more.
The Council has not adopted any additional conditions at this time.
